Yes put the extra part in, we moved the adjustment all the way open ,as the plastic spun smallest point was almost perfect. This works fine for us. Hope this helps Don

I think I finally figured it out. When I tried to do the gap setting, I had the distributor in my hand. And the loose rotor was due to it not being set in the car. I am betting with the distributor in place, it sits tight, at which time I can set the gap more accurately. Thanks. That extra piece is in place, though I wish the documentation would have said something about it. Luckily, I put the red lock tight stuff on, like suggested on a previous post.

OKAY, Here is the latest. I took the distributor out. Inside the outer ring with the green tape, is an inner ring. Neither of these rings fit snug on the shaft. That explains why I am getting the wiggle for the gap. I do have it gapped correctly. But when I manually turn the shaft, I can see the gap change, from that wiggle. I am thinking that inner ring is supposed to fit snugly on the shaft, but doesn't. I have a 63 Dodge Dart. The box says it is part number 91361A. The box reads it is a kit for 1960 to 1972 Mopar 6 cylinder. From all I can tell, I have the right kit. But it doesn't fit. Any clues there?
