OK, did some serious spraying with brake cleaner to find out that once more (this is the FOURTH one) the BBD throttle shaft is leaking.

The last carb I bought was bushed by a pro. It lasted a little over a year. But w/ the propane this is a real problem.

Does anybody have a BBD --even just the bottom--that they know is good?

Thanks,

Joe

There is definitely something wrong with bushings that last only a year. Geeze, what were they made out of, cardboard?!

A quality rebush job on a BBD will last several decades. There are various suitable materials: bronze, Delrin, Rulon-J. I think your best way forward is to have your throttle body (which, presumably, matches the rest of the carb) rebushed properly this time.

Does anybody know anyone who will rebush a BBD? Nobody in Austin really wants to touch it.

Joe

Send a PM to 440_Magnum on here; he's in Austin and probably knows a good carb rebusher. After all, Texas is Bush country! ;-)

Texas is Bush country, but Austin is a beautiful blue.

Good point,
