Rubbing compound, polishing compound, wax didn't do much good.

But strangely enough some overspray of WD40 helped alot (even after it dried)....

Well I didn't like the idea of WD40, so I used Armor All (worth a try...). The old paint seemed to absorb it, and it helped alot..

What I want to know is if there's some liquid that's actually designed for paint out there?????????

Thanks

I've heard good things about Spam. Don't get any near your eyes or mouth though.

You're probably thinking of some stuff like "Renew" (sp?) that used to come in a small green metal can and smelled like some sort of solvent. I've seen it at my local auto parts store not too long ago.

It did an amazing job of bring back faded maroon paint, but when we tried to wax it aftward, it looked terrible, but looked fine w/o the wax. I've no idea of how long it lasts or what it is, but I imaging you'll need to get all the weird stuff off your paint before you try this. I'd keep it away from anything plastic or rubber.

Should really be repainted, but can't afford that at the moment....

Wax doesn't do anything, so not using wax is not a problem.

It's the original paint, and since it absorbed the Armor-All, I figured there was something specifically made for paint......... (although the armor-all made the window rubber nice)
