hi all,

on my '68 Dart... there are these two 3" (or so) holes in the body under the spare tire which have rubber plugs in them. I need to replace both of these but I am not sure what they are called or how to ask my local parts shop for them. Can someone please clue me on the right terminology?

Thanks,
Reuben

Not sure you can get tham at a parts store, but I'm sure Year One sells them.

"Body plugs" they are called. "Spare tire well" is the location, I would call it.
Call Hardens Muscle Car World (800)633-4690 and see if their SB127 - 2" Trunk Plug (black) is what you need.

Here's a little known secret...
Go to http://www.caplugs.com or call them at (888)227-5847 and ask for free samples of their "BP Series" and "BPF Series" button plugs - the first has recessed-type heads, the second has flush-type heads. Ask them to send two of each type. Make sure you get a good measurement on the hole diameter.
