What sort of oxygen sensor is this? If that's a narrow band oxygen sensor, any reading over 1 volt is more likely to be the result of a ground offset than a real reading.

Thanks, that's the info I got from another guy, too. I don't know the type, so that's a little frustrating. I bought it with all the other conversions parts. It has three wires coming off of it, red, green, and black.

I'm checking the ground this afternoon.

Fixed the ground and it is running much better. Not quite as smooth as I'd like at idle, when in gear, though. I have had to increase the idle speed. And mysteriously, now it takes some time to warm up. But I think that the computer is helping now rather than hindering/doing nothing.
