Greg,

Looks like you are well on your way!

I have a takeoff 65mm TB from a 4.6L GT Mustang - cheap on ebay, even with TPS. This is easy to mount on a 4bbl manifold.

That MSD EFI pump will work fine, but is quite loud inside the car unless you isolate it well. I have that on my 68 Dart, and I have not isolated mine yet. Plenty of HP capacity.

I think a 1990 F150 with MP-EFI is a good thing for a high P filter. Looks like about half of a beer can in size.

Lou

I am now currently searching for a Throttle Body, I Think I am going to adapt a large 1bbl throttle body in the plumbing. I am trying to find one that has a tps Switch and an iac Device built in. So far none on summit have come up that way - Btw what is the cfm for a 70mm tb, how about a 75 MM TB? I was looking at tb's for a slmall ford motor, but I am still researching here.
Stock 5.0 Mustang throttle bodies have both a TPS and a pulse width modulated IAC valve on them, and people are just giving them away. However, they often keep the IAC, so you may need to find that separately. Quite a few other Ford IACs fit.

For the TB sizing, there's a calculator in the MegaManual:

Matt, as far as ignition control, I would like to have msII Run it for infinte tunabality, I would like to start off with the Locked out Distrubtor with hall effect to trigger the ignition, Than maybe down the road switch to the Ford EIDS System as MS II seems to be compatible with that.
They're both easy to set up, although you may need to put a few resistors in the external wiring (or solder them to the mainboard) to let one Megasquirt model work with both. Alternatively, you could use the Lean Burn distributor / HEI combination and then switch to EDIS; the mods for those two are identical on an MS-II.

I used a Jeep 4.0 throttle body. It uses a 2 bbl throttle cable and a Lokar kick down. It fits fine in my 66 Valiant, I just need to make the jump and install The Megasquirt II computer and wire it up. Anybody in the San Jose CA area doing a megasquirt??

Thanks rob, I have thought about the 4.0 parts too, Still need to go to the junk yard to compare and study.

Kick down is a non-issue for me as I run a 4 speed.

Thanks, Greg

I have gone to the Junk yard and got all of my pigtails to connect the sensors and injectors.

I also Picked up a 4.0l jeep Throttlebody - Just to get me started.

I have been reading the megamanual and I was wondering if I need a MAP sensor Seperate?

The way I am rading the mega Manual It says there is a map Sensor Built into the Mega Squirt Box?? Is this true ? if so do I need to purchase a seperate map sensor??

Remember, I will be purchasing One Pre-Assembeled from a Dealer, Not putting togther one myself.

Thanks, Greg

Megasquirt uses it's own built-in MAP sensor. You need to run a hose to the MS ECU. I was reading about a compact version of the MS that's meant for motorcycles and such that uses and external MAP sensor, but the regular ones are internal and are rated for up to 21 psi boost.

Lou, Is this The filther You speak of??

http://www.partsamerica.com/product_ima ... 55_ang.jpg

I thought a HP fuel Filter Would have some sort of Metal flared Fittings on there.

If not What kind of HP fuel hose and Clamps would I need to make it work if this is the correct part?

Greg

Thats the one I used. The ends are made for the ford lines. I just put a bit of a flare at each end then used ase j30r9 5/16" rubber efi hose with efi hose clamps to attach it to the hardline.

Thanks, Guys,

I will have to Check on the Efi Style Fuel Clamps, as I have only Ever used The Gear type ones.

Also, The Map Info was already posted eariler in this thread by Matt Cramer, I just plain forgot.

I always work better when I have a componet in my hand, and i have not yet bought the Mega Squirt Setup yet.

Will I be able to use the old vapor return line as the New EFI Pressure Return Line?

Also, I have got Mega tune on my computer, and I wanted to know if anyone has a sample ve table to load into it to get started.

I dont yet have a Mega Squirt II, but I will be getting one.

I just wanted to get All the computer stuff squared away now as I have time.

Greg

It's not a good idea to hook up MegaTune and try to draw up a list of settings for a real car without having it connected to a Megasquirt or setting it to Offline and starting by opening an MSQ file. The Megasquirt will have a base map on it, but if you just open MegaTune on its own without opening a MSQ, it comes up with all zeros, sometimes in places they shouldn't be. If you just want to open some MSQ files to get a feel for the software, there's a lot of sample files on the Megasquirt forums.

Matt, ok, Maybe I will have to just wait until I actually get everything.

How about my old Vapor line??

Can I use that as the new EFI Return Line?

It may or may not be too restrictive. You can always try, and if pressure shoots way up then you have to find another way. I found this idea - plumb the return line into the fill tube. Drill/tap a hole, screw a fitting into it, solder it to seal, then run a hard line thorugh the trunk and under the car.

Remember you still need a tank vent / vapor line, so if you use your original as a return, you need to implement a vapor return / vent in some other manner.
