hey guys, as mentioned a week or so back, my dart had been dying in idle in gear or neutral, i think that it may have been a kinked or unplugged vaccuum advance hose, but i had turned the idle screws up to try to get it to not die at traffic lights, now its roaring, and i dont know which screw does what because when i turn them down it dies again, im sure its simple and someone on here knows how to do it right, when im looking at it from behind, theres two screws side by side, it seems just a bit high in gear, but in park its way too high, thanks guys
ps as the title mentioned its a super six, and its got the carter carb

Try the BBD adjustment procedure from the super six article.

It's http://slantsix.org/articles/supersix/bbd-adjust.jpg

You might have a vacuum leak. My car is in the shop right now becuase I couldnt figure it out. I couldnt really get it to idle below 1000-1200 rpm. Then when I would put it in gear, it would just completely die out unless I kept my foot on the gas. I had the carb rebuilt by a shop and compeltely checked over the manifolds and carb for leaks and found nothing.

Did you spray your carb for leaks with carb cleaner? Make sure the throttle shaft bushing on the passenger side of the carb isnt leaking. Mine was sucking air in and I had to take the carb in to get it rebushed. Also make sure there are no leaks around the gaskets.

I had the idle porblem with my stock 1bbl carb it wouldn't die in gear though it would come close almost loping but i had plans anyway b/c i purchased a cliff intake and headers and put a 390cfm holley 4bbl on it i highly recomend this if you can't figure it out b/c mine will idle as low as maybe 350 in gear and not die but it runs great and idles about 650 to 700 steady after i adjusted the idle didn't even have to touch the air to fuel mixture.Just an idea if you get fed up with the carter.
