Can anyone help me with the install of an oil pressure gauge? I am using a gauge from Summit, part # SUM-G2934.

How does this install?

What additional parts will I need?

Any and all help would be very appreciated.

Did the gauge come with the installation kit, which is small diameter plastic hose and fittings?

You will need to get a "T" fitting to install inbetween the current oil sending unit and engine. the "T" will allow you to install the gauge fitting.

I put my tee in the back of the oil pump; put the aftermarket mechanical gage in the tee "up" and put the old sender in the "back end" of the tee. Just lets you have both an idiot lite and an oil pressure gage.

I prefer to use copper tubing, at least on the cockpit side of the fire wall. The plastic tubing is much more likely to start leaking later on and if it fails outright or gets cut it squirts hot oil all over the place. You can coil the tubing into a few pigtails under the hood so it will flex with the motor. On some cars it transfers some engine noise to the dash, if this is a problem you can use a compression union under the hood near the fire wall and use the plastic from there.

I also would never remove the idiot light sender but use a tee as already advised.
