I have one of the extra-thick "header" gaskets, think it's a Mr. Gasket #321. This is the 12-port gasket that goes between the manifolds and the head. I think I remember reading that this gasket does a better job of sealing than the thin regular gaskets -- true? I also think I remember reading that it's a good idea to soak this kind of gasket (semi-hard white composition) in water for a few hours, then install while it's a little soft, which will improve the seal -- true?

I have tried the "thick" (klinger, mp, etc..)gaskets with a clifford intake and mp header, always exhaust leak for me. i like to use two of the "ROL" brand gaskets stacked up. works like a charm, at least for me, and the intake can be changed without replacing either of the two gaskets. fel pro is too thin, victor gaskets work well, but watch what sides you mate together.....chad
