That calc also gives his displacement as 327.7 cid......
Where'd ya get that?

I put the numbers in that calculator and came up with 9.43:1 with a 4.35 stroke and 9.24:1 with 4.25 stroke. I'm wondering if we're using the same numbers now.

The same calc gives total dispplacement......I got 327.7 with Brens #s

..and a CR just like you got.

That means 54.5cid per cylinder instead of 43.

Lets find another calculator.....

Well, I know I'm old and fat and probably about half blind but I'm not seeing total displacement. I see a thing called total displacement volume but that's only 85cc, so, pardon my thickness but I still don't get it. It's also possible that my rickety old computer (I've got to get a new one soon!) is hanging up somewhere and I'm not seeing everything.

Another entry. I get
9.24 with a 4.25 stroke

I did not use a online calc. I used the math.
area of bore is 10.128 cu in times the stroke =43.044ci or 705.488 cc
deck area =6.308 cc
gasket= 8.277 cc
combustion chamber= 68
valve relief=3
total volume is 705.488+6.308+8.277+68+3=791.073 cc
791.073 divided by (6.308+8.277+68+3)=9.24

PS 43.044 ci per cyl times 6= 258.264 displacement

I get 10.2 .....007 deck.....64.5cc chambers....038 gasket valve relief 6 cc

I also get a 8.4 dynamic compression ratio which is high.....

That is a cam issue and prolly accounts for the high cranking pressures.

I used the cam card and this calc: http://www.kb-silvolite.com/calc.php?action=comp

But he stated that his combustion chambers are 68 cc, not 64.5; that's what I've been using in the calculators.

theses are the numbers I used

Can someone run these new numbers just to be sure.
Bore = 3.591
Stroke = 4.25 or 4.35 this has yet to be varifed but it is no less or no more, and it only moves the CR .25 max
valve reliefs = +3 (after milling pistons)
deck height = .038 (after milling pistons)
head CC's = 68cc (after grinding/cutting 3.5cc more in)
gasket compressed = .048
gasket bore = 3.66

I am coming up with 9.24 / 9.43 (depending on stroke)

The stroke has been confirmed to be 4.25. The heads are 67.5 cc. The CR is set at 9.29. Cam shaft (240@50) has been install 2* advanced. (intake opens at 16* @50) I'll be picking up the motor tomorrow evening.
Some pic for your entertanment.

In the photo tags/captions you omitted the h in chamber.

I hope the engine runs well for you after all this.

Is there anyone that thinks a 3200 stall is to much for the 240@50 cam?

I wouldn't be scared, but I run over 3000 with a stock motor.

3200 is just about right for that cam/combo.

Any reason why the short side radius looks untouched? I don't see any real relief around the valves either.

I would run that much stall with your cam, even in a v-8.
