A question for guys running Dutras, particularly those with a Y-pipe into single exhaust. Since the exhaust flanges bolt up at 2 different angles (the stock manifold headpipe drops straight down, while the Dutra manifold headpipe comes off almost perpendicular) how do you unbolt the headpipes?

Do you guys use studs or bolts for the Dutra manifold? I guess bolts would enable the headpipe to drop straight down and solve my issues, but I was just trying to match the stock manifold with studs.

I actually ran true duals, but the cheap exhaust work means that there's barely enough room to get the headpipe off the studs before it hits the steering box, and the two headpipes ended up so close together near the firewall that they rattled against each other. They "solved" the problem by spot welding the pipes together, which created a problem when I needed to remove the manifolds.

Other than the fact that I need to pay a QUALIFIED exhaust shop, just wondering how you guys' exhaust is routed/disconnects.

I tend to use bolts instead of the studs and go as far as pulling the factory studs out of the rear manifold.

I also build a slip fit into the "Y" pipe and use a clamp instead of welding the sections together.
