I am looking at replacing the headliner in my 73 dart. It came with the cardboard headliner originally. Legendary has a headliner that is made to replace this and it is made of plastic. I was just curious if anyone had experience with these. The uncovered plastic ones can be painted to match your interior. I am a little concerned though because they are supposed to be smooth with no texture. I'm afraid this might look a little goofy.

Anyone have advice or experience?

I'm looking at the same problem...

I see that this is a rather old post, have you learned anything since?

I kind of wonder if REM Auto have anything for this application. Legendary have a good reputation, but they're also a little "legendary" for their prices. Haven't priced out their replacement for the A-body headliner, but Dante's Parts offer it and have a very good reputation.

Jopapa started a thread on this topic a week or 2 ago, if I remember right, the Legendary part is less expensive than the one from Dante's. I'm gonna need one of these down the road, but I've never actually seen one in person yet so I can't comment about how it looks....I was hoping someone else could.

I'm just going to take the time and do what I can to source a set of bows to install a fabric (vinyl?) headliner. I think it'll look better and be a cleaner install that the plastic piece, despite being alot harder to get the necessary parts for. Not like I'm in a hurry to finish restoring the car. I've only just begun!

I have a set of 5 bows from a 1973 Dart Sport that I do not need, in my 'parts shed', if interested let me know, I'll try to dig them up this weekend and get a picture to you.
