Neighbor's ex husband kept telling me he had an old 6cyl engine at his house but, wasn't sure what it was. He seen my engine and thought it was the same as what he had. He told me I could have it if I wanted it. I kept asking him to find out and he kept on forgetting about it. Finally he just decided to tell me where he lived and I could check it out.
Yep, it's a slant. It does have the 2bbl intake but its a 2 piece aluminum. I don't know if I want to mess with it or not. It's real tempting! I believe he told me it was out of a 1980 truck and the motor was weak. What parts should I take off of it to save for my truck engine?

It's free, you got a truck, take the whole thing. :D

Some people really like those intakes too, so don't junk it. :)

I wasn't going to get rid of the intake! The thing is its only good for parts if that much. The oil pan is gone and carb is gone also, its been in the elements for years. I just noticed the exhaust has a real bad crack in it. From what I can tell is the intake and maybe the water pump is all I can really salvage. I'm not sure if the head would be any good to take with it being open to the elements.

Its all rebuildable. I like having an extra head, block. I can rebuild at my own financial pace.

Check out this major crack in the exhaust manifold. That's probably why the motor felt weak.
