G DAY AL YOU guys AND GIRLS ,

it`s the black sheep back again . i've just in the last few day noticed pinging on the cruise only at 60m.p.h ( 2700-3000rpm) and most noticeable under light throttle ..

i've tryed both dropping the timing back to 5` and fating up the fuel on the cruise from 65.52 to 62.52 3% richer ..

but strangle it`s still there .. i sat down and think .. (beer in hand helps ) and though it maybe rocker shaft play ,or just a strange slant thing ....

yours now thinking ,,,

the drunkish black sheep

hello,
I reckon your vac advance is pulling too much advance on under high vacuum conditions - i.e : light throttle.
have you checked to see what the vacuum advance is pulling? you will prob'ly have estimate the vac. advance coz it will be way off the marker scale usually.
what dizzy are you using - points or electronic? and is your vac advance pot an adjustable sort?
I see you have your email address listed,I have some interesting reading which you might be able to solve the ping problem.
look for an email from "parody". it is noy spam. ha ha.

regards,Rod :)
