The car ran great with the stock reach spark plugs. No miss. I will proceed with tuning base fuel map. Thanks for listening (reading) and offering advice.

Jess, do you still t hink it is a good idea to hook up the heater lines to the manifold or TB?

Sam

Not required on port injection, Sam. Is yours that type. correct?

TBI and carb requires plenum heating.

This TB came off a Buick with port injection, and yet it has the heating lines built in.

Well, by all means, rig 'em up, then. I cannot imagine it hurting anything.

Heated TB? Interesting!! What could this serve this?

Oh, I forgot to add: Cold startup on TBI they tend to fire big burst of air/fuel mixture as much as WOT mixture ratio. That how carb's choke did and it pulled all of mixture from idle mixture and from venturis at same time because of strong vacuum that closed off choke provided. Once engine fires, one bumps the throttle to get it off the choke or engine chokes on excessively rich mix onto fast idle cam with more sane mixture ratio because choke is now slightly cracked open for cold idle/higher speed, this also forced the advance to move more. Right? As Dan had said before?

On port injection, not as much during cold start I suppose? Oh yes, computer also opens the idle rpm and advances the timing more open to enconrage the idle RPM to go up to keep engine alive for first critical 10-20 seconds when engine is cold?

Cheers, Wizard
