So I took my head into the machine shop today. Planning on taking .1" off. He asked if I needed new pushrods. I thought that I could take up the slack with the adujsters, but then I really don't know.

Do I need new pushrods??? If so, where do I get them?

You will not know for sure until you assemble the engine and see for sure. A lot depends on valve stem length and cam profile. If you do need pushrods, www.pushrods.net is the place to go.

The way I'll know is if I can get correct valve lash? What about geometry?

With shaft mounted rockers the rocker to valve geometry is fixed as long as the valve stem height doesn't change. If you don't have any adjuster threads showing below the rocker arm your pushrods are too short. Ideally you only want a thread or two showing below the rocker.

I had 0.100" taken off of the head I am using now. It is on it's second engine and I haven't needed shorter pushrods on either engine.

I reground my cam so everything equaled out with what was removed from the block and head. I am using the stock push rods.

That's backwards isn't it? No thread would be pushrods too long. :?

Rollers will take a shorter pushrod than stockers too. DAMHIK. :roll:

Oops! Yeah, you need shorter pushrods if there are no adjuster threads showing below the rocker arm.
