BOUGHT A SLANT SIX MOTOR ALREADY OUT OF CAR AND NEED TO KNOW IF IT IS A 225 OR 198.I HEARD THEIR ARE NUMBERS SOMEWHERE ON THE BLOCK?????HELP

I believe that the motor size is stamped on the passanger side-front of the block deck. I had pulled the head off my engine before I noticed it. Another easy way to tell if it's a 198, pull the oil pan. the connecting rod part number is 2951262.

If it is a 198, you have a rare set of connecting rods to save for a long rod engine project! The 225's are much easier to find.
