Heres a view of the inside of the bell. You can see the bolts that go through the bell and into the trans. They are blue.

The red plug at the top is for the shifter rail that goes through the bell on the Mustang...I welded a short piece of pipe on the inside of the bell and capped it with a pipe plug,,,oddervice it will leak oil on yer clutch.

The bell has been hand filed to fit the cut down bearing retainer.

A "snout"has been added to the input shaft to mimic the stock 3 speed input shaft.

All this stuff is dirty because it has tens of thousands of miles on it.

Input bearing retainer. The outside diameter has been machined as far as possible while still allowing the bolts to rotate. The bell was opened up (by hand filing) until the bearing retainer slipped in. The filing took about 5 hours. Its accurate work because it is so slow its hard to go too far wrong....

the throwout bearing surface of the bearing retainer was machined down to fit the stock Valiant T/O bearing....you can see how much in the photo. It looks thin but has functioned fine for 7 years..... and I have a spare.
