Here is some photos of my '71 plymouth duster that I race when I get a chance to. It is a slow process right now as most peoples rides are and
you know how limited funding is as well. Roll cage and fuel cell are coming
soon, along with many other goodies. Im building a pretty hot 225 for
this baby a little at a time. Looking hard at an 8.25 sure-grip and
quite a few fiberglass parts as well. Although the main intention is race
-the car will remain a car that sees street duty. The car was bought locally
for $1000 as a running project and of course still is. The body was solid
but has a slightly rusty top (was a vinyl top car) -complete with a ratty interior and a rusted out floorboard on the passenger side. It is seriously gutted and features a piece of plexiglass for a couple of the windows that
are cut very well...no one even notices.--saves weight too! Waiting for the
weather to warm up to get back working on this duster and get all those parts I got laying in the living onto the car!!! Anyways thought Id share with everyone...the car did very well in the '05 season! I have a long way to go with it!! Oh yes I'll mention one more tidbit that has a happy ending. The owner that had the car before the owner I bought it
from located the car in maine and the state was gonna haul it away and have it destroyed for taking residence just outside the mans house. The
gentlemans pushed the car up to the mans yard and bought it on the spot saving it from a certain death... :D

The engine bay is now flat black, I added a chrome valve cover and a mallory hyfire ignition system as well. Its running real good and Im gonna find out what it's gonna do hopefully with slicks at the farm! Also the edelbrock 500 is no more. Went to a holley 4412 500cfm 2bbl...

I dialed the car in at 11.52 and was way off....The humidity was really high. I went in for first round and ran 10.85  I broke out but was really happy that the duster is doing 10's with a stock short block and head! 8)

Very cool!! I do love the Dusters!! Are you running the 1/4 mile, or the 1/8 mile?
Are you running a 4 bbl intake w/ a carb adapter for the 2 bbl, or the 2 bbl setup? I ask because I am getting stuff together to do some work on our 63 Valiant!
