Are the parking brake strut and lever (inside the drum) interchangeable between 9" and 10" brakes? I seem to be missing those parts and the counter guy at the parts store just looks at me with a slack jaw when I ask him if they are available. Even a PN# would be splendid.

Thanks in advance,

Nat

No, the 9" and 10" parts don't interchange. Which setup have you got?

I have a 7 1/4" rear with 9" brakes and I'm trying to get an 8 1/4" rear with 10" brakes ready to go in the car. The guy at the parts store told me "the parking brake lever is inside the car" even after I described what I was looking for. Frustrating.

Thanks for your reply,

Nat

Chrysler/Dodge dealer parts:

4882 808 (lever, right)
4882 809 (lever, left)
4761 806 (strut, right)
4761 807 (strut, left)

Take the opportunity to install 13/16" bore wheel cylinders in your new 10" rear brakes while you're at it — does a terrific job cleaning up the A-body rear lockup problem. NAPA-United 37696, Raybestos WC37696, Wagner F113704, or ACDelco 18E268 is the wheel cylinder you want — times two (left = right).
