Second run was bad. Didn't get a good burnout and smoked the tires pretty close to the 60' mark. Unfortantaly my camera person was looking at the stars or something.

I should have run a couple more times and changed my launch technic a few more times. I am pretty sure if I could get consitently in the 1.9 60' if I combine the best burnout and staging technics of the three runs.
Now for the interesting but scary stuff.
As some may know I am running a Gear Vendors Over/Underdrive and I am split shifting gears (sometimes). That another thing I need to figure out. Whats the best shift combination. (split all gears, just the 1-2 or just the 2-3 shift). Well during the first run at the end of the track in 2nd-over and turning 5900-6000 rpm, instead of shifting in to Drive I hit the button and drop the overdrive.

This engine has a rev limiter chiped at 6000 rpm, but if you drop the overdrive the CAR will push the RPMs past the limiter. I was very well aware of this but somehow I got confused and cranked her up to 6950 rpm. (data logger showed this) Well it held together and made two more passes with no problems. On the way home, at idle or lite coasting cruise, I am hearing a noise from the engine. Sounded like a rattle and I was telling myself its just the cold air pipe moving around. Ofcourse I am giving thought to the almost 7000 rpms I turned today, which was really making me nervous now. I get home and pop the hood with it idleing and making the noise and grab the air pipe and its not the source of the noise. I get a little sick at this point and start moving my ears around the engine and hoping I hear many something from the valve cover area. Nope. I am think broken skirt and piston slap or something not nice. I decide to shut it off and jack it up to check the converter bolts. I don't really consider myself to be a very religous man, but I was praying that the bolts where loose as I rolled under with a large screwdriver. I don't know of a happier moment when I found them loose.
YouTube coming soon.
