I know my 65 Dart has a manual 3 speed (on the tree) without a synchro 1st gear. It can be tricky to drive in town sometimes. Is there a fully synchro three speed that is a direct bolt up? My car is all stock and I hate to start to alter things just yet, just would like to change a few small things.

Here is a link to some info.

There is not a direct bold-in but there are some options.
The 4-speed swap is the way to go.

regarding question on the A230 3speeed manual- does anyone have a 3spd factory floor shifter for bolt up to this transmission. seems they have just about disappeared. would appreciate knowing if one is available in the sl6 forum. thanks callpaladin@aol.com

the trans i mentioned comes with the floor shifter if anybody is interested, and if i decide to part the car out after all. i am still undecided about its fate. its a clean little car, runs nice, but i am having a hard time tracking down the title. so it might become "valiant fodder" after all. if so, i'll let the list know. also has the hump that looks as if it could be made to work in an A body, as the F body and A shared the same transmissions

You should post in the Parts Wanted forum.

In California, you used to be able to send a registered letter to the last owner of the car, and if you got no response, you could take that letter into the DMV and have the title issued to you. You should check out the rules in your state.
