Grassroots Motorsports and Hot Rod both have articles this month on the $2002 Challenge, and a slant six Valiant appears in both articles. The challenge included an autocross, drags, and "concours". Nice to see someone out there in open competition with European, Japanese, and newer domestic hardware. Even better that he beat some of each!

Does anyone know this guy. I bet he has e-mail and internet. His car sounds pretty cool and he's a 64-66 a-body 4 speed guy.

I saw that article too. The $2002 challenge race sounds pretty cool. I am thinking seriously about putting a car together for it for maybe the year after next. I think an early A-body Slant would have a pretty good chance, especially if you spruced it up with a cheap paint job (oddly, 1/3 of the competition is the show'n'shine).

I met this guy, last weekend at Don Garlits Mopar Show. Have some pictures that need to be developed. He is planning on entering the 2003 Challange.
