Has anybody tried to use one of these 2 barrel fuel injection systems on a slant 6. I've see these units at swap meets very often for under 500 bucks. Seems like it would be perfect because all the small cfm 670 and price. I don't think a mild motor would need much more.

Lou has run this with some dissapointing results, I think due to it being TBI instead of MPI, and mostly because the old 2di analog computer was a pile of garbage, it should do better with the new Commander 950 computer ($$$), or the megasquirt computer might be and OK driver...

Lou, where are you!?

Lou had trouble with the analog Pro Jection and I don't think the digital with the knobs for tuning would be much better. I know the throttle body with Mega Squirt control works well, but it was a lot of work to get right.

The TBI unit itself is a decent item. The computer it came with, however, has two big obstacles to installing it on a slant six.

1. It's programmed for a smallblock Chevy, and the screwdriver tuning doesn't give you enough adjustment to change the map to what a slant six needs.

2. It's an alpha-N system, uses just RPM and throttle position for the fuel calculations. It's much easier to make a speed density or MAF based system work well.

I would only use a Pro-Jection setup like a parts car - rather than using the entire thing, take the parts off it that work and replace the ones that you don't need.

I have the 2bbl Holley TBI system on my 64 Dart with the Megasquirt 2.2 ECU running it. Currently mid 14s in the 1/4 and 24 mpg hwy.

I would not bother with the old Holley computers - wasted a million hrs on those piles of ....
