The first batch of cylinder heads for the aluminum-block engine had the word "SPECIAL" on the casting ID pad instead of the casting number 2206035 like the regular heads had. The difference was a slightly smaller combustion chamber and some clearance for the pushrods. The second batch had the same mods but a 5-pointed star on the casting ID pad.

And the later star heads appear to me to have the plug holes like the eary iron block heads,seems like it should be oppisite.I personally dont think it matters that much,MY OPINION,mark
