OK i have a nice stumble off idle or from a roll it stumbles basically when ever i just punch it if i give a quick half throttle then to the floor stab theres basically no hesitation.
Things i've done
changed jets from 51 to 54 because it was running lean (i may need to richen it more)
went from 25 pump shooter to 28 then to 31 not sure if i have not enough or too much pump shooter
once the car stops stumbling it feels like it pulls strong (strongest with the 31 pump shooter)
My next course of action was trying accel pump cams
Oh and would exhaust leaks down where the muffler connects to my pipes in the middle of the car do anything negative to performance i cant see it making a difference way back there.
Thanks, Kev

Errr.... what carb are we working with?
If it is a Holley 4 bbl, what is the power valve rating and what is you at idle manifold vacuum reading?

That should've been the first course of action... Check doc's advice first (usually the power valve is 'way up there for a V-8' now lower like a 9 or 10 for the slant)... You might find that using a 25 or 28 acc. shooter with a bigger cam would be a better mod (you probably have a 'red' cam... if you're using the orange cam, try the screw in position #2, and use a feeler gauge to 'qualify your acc. pump 'arm'... aka with the throttle at wide open the spring should have about .015" of clearance or so before the pump lever 'bottoms out'...

Have you tried a 10.5 power valve yet?

Also the idle air bleeds might be too small for the taller cam.
