Well it finally had to happen.I got my new motor running on Sunday after 2 years building.Everything went pretty smooth other then one small oil leak at one of the fittings on the remote filer line and was having a hard time getting the timing set because the Mallory distributor condensor hit the block when trying to turn it enough and was afraid to shut it off until it was fully broken in.Going to remove it and relocate the condenser tonight and re-tourque the head and adjust the valves.Ran it at 205 degrees and steady 80lbs oil pressure.Saturday off to the muffler shop to get the pipes bent so I can run it without getting the neighbors panties in a knot.It was very loud.I have posted a vidio on you-tube.My wife took it when I fired it up,It's 10 minutes long (sorry I didn't know how to edit it shorter) I listed it under Slant Six Fire Up.I still have some loose ends to take care of but I should be able to road test it this weekend. Thanks for all the help and advice.I should have it on the chassis dyno by the end of June then it's off to the track! Still need to come up with a better rear-end then the 7 1/4 for now.I just can't see it lasting with hard launches and slicks.I'm pretty much out of money for this project til the fall, still want to install a quick change .I'll post the dyno sheet when I get it done.     :D

Congrats! Sounds good (gotta love open headers)! Can you tell us (or remind us) about the high points of the build? Cam, intake, carb, etc.

Also, what radiator hose did you use that works with the aluminum radiator?

Good luck with tuning!

It's a BH block,forged crank,105 over custom Ross pistons,custom Schnieder cam,custom Manley S/S valve,fully machined head and block,seriously reworked head,Virous fan assembly,all ARP fasteners, Clifford intake,reworked Holley 390 carb.Hooker Pro-Compp header,full Mallory Hyfire VI inigtion,T&D Roller Rockers,727 Specilites reverse valve body trans,(thanks Slantzilla),complete race fuel system ect....
The upper radiator hose? I took a 18"piece of heat riser tube and formed it to fit the profile and brought it to Carquest and ordered everyone that looked right and fit them.Had to trim the ends but it fits great.PM me if you need the part # and I'll dig it up.I had gotten Sprectra metal hoses but the didn't fit good and we cheaply made. :D

emptypockett,

Thanks for sharing! Sounds very smooth.

Are you going to run duals with mufflers and cut outs?

Which Schnieder cam did you go with?
