How do you turbo a 225, i'm inexperienced with turbos. Thanks!!!

Well, first you take all your money out of your wallet and bank account and throw it at your engine.

Actually it depends on your skills and tools. The cheapest way would be to cut off the exhaust off a turbo car and weld it onto the exhaust of the slant six. Otherise I would get out the welder and torch, make or buy a bender and have at it. The only problem is if you build a header for the turbo out of mild steel is that it will rust and pass metal chunks into the turbine.
Street Turbocharging is a GREAT book to read if your interested at all.

so taking the exhaust of a turbo car and welding it to my dart huh? sounds not right, and more complex than you are describing. 1 barrell carb for one. and it just seems to me that it wouldn't run right. my opinion though. have you done this? have anymore detailed advice?

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but this what you just posted in another thread suggests that turbocharging your slant-6 should wait quite awhile, and in the meantime you should gather more skills and knowledge. It really is not a "bolt on and go" type of deal; it's an extremely major undertaking that involves a great deal of money, time, effort, custom fabrication, rebuilding, recalibration, etc.

Well, to actually get into it, yes it is more difficult than described. If you go under the articles read through ALL those and you'll come across one describing turbocharging off a 2.2L car. What you'll notice is they cut off what you might call the neck and weld/braze it onto your exhuast manifold. The other way I could think of doing this is to weld a plate onto the end of you exhuast with the t3 cut out, won't flow right and at that point you might as well build headers.
My ultimate suggestion would be to get those kits that allow you to build your own header with a lot of multiple bends and go to town. You could do all this pretty cheap if you want to run about 6-8lbs. Past there your going to have to get that book I metioned and talk to me again.
PS no the one barell carb wouldn't work right on a good NA build, you'll need most likely a 4 barell that has been prepped for blow through, or build an intake that can accept the boost underneath the carb and get a 500cfm+.

I think what you are refering to is "Super Six", "E.F.I. Slant Six", "Board Sponsor" by your user name, isn't it? That changes with the amount of posts and donation monies.

If you are really interested in adding a Turbo to your slant, read, read, read. Most are using EFI which as I am finding out = $$$$. Shaker has a carb. Search for turbo and hundreds of posts will come up.

I've got a turbo / EFI slant six in progress. The first version suffered from several issues and I'm redoing it to avoid them.

After what happened to mine, I would never, ever recommend trying to weld together a stock slant six manifold and a turbo car manifold to put a turbo on a slant six. I bought Wayne's turbo manifold (from the Articles section). It broke not long after installation. Welding old cast iron parts together is not easy, and the setup I had did not survive. I also wouldn't recommend most stock K car turbos, as they're too small on a slant six. (The 2.2 DOHC unit might be OK, but I'm not sure on that one.)

It's definitely a lot of work and a lot of money. I'd estimate I have probably put around $3,000 or so into mine, and I consider it a budget build...
