Okay,So I'm not the expert on these things so I'm asking you guys. I found this adapter on Ebag
and I'm wondering if this thing will actually work or just be a waste of money. Thanks!Dan

it will work but i hear that there not as good as a 2barrel intake because the hole is just alot smaller and the vac and everything would be less but it works i gues..

Don't use the supplied gaskets, this will leak.

Use proper gasket that have round holes instead of ovals for the studs.

But, one barrel hole size is wow TINY compared to two barrels

Cheers, Wizard

IMHO the one barrel will run better than that setup if you tune it right.

Baucco, welcome on the board. This question gets asked a lot. These adaptors do not work well at all. The reason is that you are negating the entire purpose of using a 2bbl rather than 1bbl carburetor, because all the air/fuel mixture from the 2bbl carburetor must still flow through a single, 1bbl-sized hole. Other problems with using an adaptor include hood-to-carb clearance, and problems with choke, throttle, and automatic transmission kickdown linkages.

Lucky13 is right: if it's a choice between running a well-tuned 1bbl carb or running a 2bbl on an adaptor on a 1bbl intake, the 1bbl carb wins. There are a bunch of ways of doing a 2bbl swap well. Throwing an adaptor on a 1bbl intake is not one of them.

One other thing: Could I get you to please read & use the eBay link posting guidelines contained in this post? Thanks! I've gone ahead and fixed your link in this thread.

Thanks for all the info guys. I kind of figured it was kind of a pointless fix. The single that I have works fine and since this is just a driver, not a rod,I'm perfectly happy with it for the time being. Thanks Dan also, for the fix and advice. As usual, live and learn! baucco
