Does anyone know a part number for a spider gear set for a 7.25 rear axles (9-bolt cover)

Spider gear set is p/n 5017 203AA, but you are not going to like the price...it lists for over USD$300!

Try Randys Ring&Pinion, or National Drivetrain; when I needed internal "guts" for my brother's Wrangler, they were far far cheaper than the stealership, and that was with someone I know that works at the stealership, offering to pick them up for me at employee cost. national has locations spread around a bit; we have one not that far from my brother's house and they had the stuff in stock. Better to take advantage and find an 8-1/4-8-3/4; most likely come out cheaper than Dan's posted price from the parts counter and less worry about a repeat failure; the 7-1/4 is kind of known as a weak link.

Thank you for the replies.
I'm working on a '73 valiant with a 225 slant automatic.

The rear end cluncks when shifting. The ring and pinion look ok, so i might get away with changing the u-joints, spider gears and readjusting the differential.

Large parts like complete rear axles are not very easy to find on this side of the ocean and are expensive to ship. And because the slant runs on LPG, it has a little less power, so I think that the 7.25 wille do just fine. I don't use it for racing anyway.

I read somewhere that there are different types of gear sets for the 7.25 axle. I saw a spider gear set on the Randys Ring&Pinion website that is a lot less than USD$300 , but I am not shure these will fit. Anyone?

The axle shafts are 25-spline and it has a 9-bolt cover.
