Well, the wrecking yard sold the 8 3/4. However, they have an 8 1/4. Sound like this is going to be the better way to go. The donor car is a 4 door dart that was side swiped in 1980. Low miles, so will a rear end go bad just sitting? It hasnt been sitting in the ground it has been suspended. The donor car also had a 318, auto trans. Would I be wise to try to get this Automatic tranny?

I had one go bad from sitting. I think it was upside down, and didn't vent properly. Everything above the lube rusted. You probably should pull the rear cover and have a boo at it. If it doesn't have a tag, you'll know the ratio anyway, and the condition of the gears.
