Are you serious about the rain-x being the HP builder?

And, are you into trains at all after your stint on the Alcos? One of my other hobbies is model railroading. What railroad were you working for? Or were you working for one of the big rebuilding shops such as Paducah?

Sam

Just kidding about the RainX!

I worked for Sun Oil in '76 and '77 in Oklahoma.

In Wynnewood Oklahoma we had 2 Cooper Bessmer, and one ALCO. They were stationary. We would warm them up on #2 fuel oil, then swap over to natural gas. They would whack out 16-1800HP @ 580RPM.

We pumped Sunoco and occasioanal Texaco Fire Chief products all the way to West Memphis Arkansas.

Dad was a mechanic there. I was summer help when I was going to college. $4 an hour!!

will i got a coolingmist system of ebay, it is all working and ready for the next race weekend, my first, what a pissy summer here, i got a duel nozzle setup with 12gph injectors but i have it setup with only one, i tested them with a 500ml bottle and timed it at 30sec`s witch is about 3gph over the rating. i soldier the hole closed and drilled it smaller, got the flow down to 400ml in 30sec`s. i saw this on a Q/A site with water injection. using an online calulator it said at 8lbs boost 3.7l and6500rpm`s i need 600ml per minute. has anybody using water injection flowed there injectors and tell me if this seem like a lot or normal amount to inject, i know alot of fine tuning is going to have to be done but i only have the track to work on it .

I've not tested the nozzels. I've only lowered when (4psi vs 9psi) the injector starts spraying. Seems to have helped quite a bit. Good luck with the set up. I bet it will make quite a bit of difference.

with your pump can you adj output pressure, i have read the you can affect the flow of the injectors by lowering the pressure to the injector. most pump are set at 150psi, with the coolingmist system you need inline defuser to reduce the pressure.

Mine is fixed at 150. I've never tried to adjust it. No need i figure with the different size nozzles. I've also seen 200+ PSI pumps too.
