Thinking about a change of the 7 1/4 housing to a 8 3/4 in my Scamp.
I know I have to change the shock mounting plates, what else will have to be changed? backing plates & etc?

Does the car have the small 5 on 4 lug pattern or the bigger 5 on 4 1/2?
You will need the shock plates, U-bolts and the driveshaft eill need to be shortened about 1 3/4 inches

Doug, it has the 5 lug 4" bolt pattern. IM really curious if my backing plates will work.

Nope...the backing plates won't work. I tried it over the summer I even re-drilled 'em on a drill press. You have to get the brakes from an 8 3/4" rear.
