I'm working on building a 2x2bbl progressive rig for my slant. So far I've got the two progressive 2bbl carbs, the manifold is on its way, and the air cleaner I chose arrived last night. Them come Monday when the intake arrives, it'll just be a matter of drilling the intake for the new carbs, and bending some fuel lines to fit...oh, and adding studs for the carbs to mount, and hooking up the linkage. Any tips to make this process any smoother? I plan on using a big step-drill bit to hog out the mounting pads, any concerns about how that'll work?

Oh, and the 1bbl designation just means how much activity you've had on the boards. You'll eventually be a super six, then a hyper pak, and so on and so forth

Proline (Chris), since you are here are you willing to give up any info on dos and don'ts of using multi webers?
I'm following Pharmboy's build closely to learn from his mistakes and successes. If you can give up some trade secrets to make our lives easier we sure would appreciate it!

btw: if you have any "extra" parts laying in inventory put them in the for sale section. You wont believe the stuff we buy!!! (Oh ya, you would...)

Hey guys. Well the do's and donts pretty much come out of the folks who use them and mess with them in the real world. I sold maybe 10 of the set-ups total....and it was a while ago. I think I had one kid then and now Ive got 2 and one on the way!

The set-up I was selling and running was not progressive. We were on our way to going with a progressive 32/36 set-up when everything bit the dust.
I can tell you besides some of the things you have read here, one of the things I spent most of my time with people on the phone was the linkage.

Get the thing idling correctly before hooking up the linkage...and make sure you make the linkage fit smoothly at idle. That is, dont change the carb arm angle to make it fit the linkage. If you know what I mean. Some guys would put it all together, linkage and all and then try to get it idling correctly with the linkage hooked up. It never works. One carb always pulls the other etc.

That seems a simple thing but it was something I saw happen a bit.

The 38/39 set-up was pretty tricky. A progressive 32/36 I think will be ALOT more forgiving.

Parts? Not many, but I'll look around Im sure I have some jets and I think maybe some air cleaners.

Hi I'm doing a 1973 Dodge Dart Full Kustom, with the 225ci Motor. I'm using a pair of Twin Side Draft Webers on a Custom Manifold.
I'm wondering if there'd be more (or less issues) with the side draft Webers like he's planning on using rather than what's being discussed right now (pair of down draft Webers).

There should be fewer issues if he uses three twin choke side draft carbs instead of two. DCOE carbs and the like are really meant to feed one cylinder per choke. Doing otherwise leads to lot of calibration work, poor performance, or if you're really unfortunate, both.

Absolutely correct. A DCOE should only feed one cylinder, if theres crossover than the air flow pulse gets ugly

I just got back to the hotel room and checked out the two carbs I've got. They're both Carter-Weber E3EE-C2A-A3-H-5. They're progressive 2bbls with 32mm bores and electric chokes. Any issues anyone would see with two of these feeding a slant? The carbs are new old stock, and were originally intended for a 1.6L Escort 4 banger. Oh, and linkage...I got a universal dual Holley-Weber setup from Langdon's Stovebolt, and it appears to be a pretty high quality bunch of parts.

Okay, my intake should be back from the shop Thursday. Now, the big question...should I grind off the rotating rod linkage points to clean things up a bit and then repaint, leave it as is, mount the throttle linkage to the carbs via a couple standoff plates, or just tap the manifold to stud mount all the linkage and clean things up a bit?

Yep Pierce wil still sell it to you... It will still come with the jets and venturis that I "dialed" in on my Duster. Mike Pierce is a great guy, and I don't think anyone in the US know more about Webers than he does. He is ( it think) the original US dealer/tweaker for Weber.

By the way, he also can do sand castings for intakes or whatever, provided that there is a demand and the set-up is worth the return.

The patterns or the intake will be ready by Nov? What do you expect the manifold to cost?
