Hey, I've had my '68 longer than my wife too. Life is like a box of chocolates...

Got my junk running yesterday, and may hev found the root cause of the cracked head. I pulled the t-stat housing off the cracked head and found the t-stat stuck shut. The guide pin was out of place and there was very little coolant flow out of the head.

I re-used it, but cut the center out so it is just a restrictor disc now.

Were you able to locate the crack and epoxy it?

Haven't taken the cracked head apart yet. I put my spare Jeffrey head on for the time being. I was supposed to take the cracked head to Mike's this weekend, but had to work Friday night so I did not go.

I did go to the shop yesterday and get the car finished up and ready to race. Just about the time I was getting ready to put it on the trailer a big (and unpredicted) thunderstorm moved in. I put the car back in the shed and came home.

I am going to try and get to the 1/8th mile big bucks race at RT66 next weekend if the weather permits.
