It's been about 3 weeks that I have left the Duster set, and now it won't start? It's getting gas but for some reason just won't fire up?
Car is all stock with no mods. I'm not sure where to start looking for the problem?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Are you sure its getting gas to the carby (a good shot of gas from the acc pump in the carb as you work the throttle?)

Check for spark...Pull a lead off a spark plug and hold it close to the rocker cover and get someone to crank the engine. You should see a nice blue spark...??

If the car ran ok 3 weeks ago, It could be that the battery is down on juice. enough to spin it over but not enough to fire!

You could be right about the battery? I was looking at some photos I took of the dash while the car was running and driving down the road and you can see it looks like the alternator was discharging?

Make sure to check your alt connections, a loose charging wire can really ruin a day...

If your voltage regulator is not grounded to the sheet metal it will also cause the same reading. You could run an extra wire from the regulator to the alternator to make sure it stays grounded. Make sure there is some shiny metal on on of the regulator ears for a good connection.

After doing that you should see the battery start to charge.

The same goes for the ECU. It needs to be grounded well to work properly.

Thanks, as soon as I get time again I'll check that stuff out and see what's going on with it.
I was reading here some where about what the best parts to use for doing a tune up and stuff that should be changed to make the /6 run better, but I'm having a hard time finding it again?

I had a little time today to miss with the Duster, and took my battery out of the Dakota and put it in the Duster and she started right up!!! So now I know the battery is part of the problem.
I let the car sit and run for some time and saw that the lower rad. hose was leaking!! so I fixed it (just loose) and then one of the heater hose's started leaking!!!
Looks like I just need to replace all of the hoses and do some tune up stuff and she should be good to go.

I see in your above pic that your alt was really discharging! I had the same problem, but I traced the problem to a completely disconected voltage regulator wire. I replaced the connection, and surprisingly the car ran better (had run not so good for a while). I hope you find your problem. Good luck. :D

How can an alternator discharge?

It holds no charge. Is the question one of a Alt gage showing minus instead of plus while engine is running, belt connected to alternator and alternator turning? Several things both inside the alternator and external to it could cause a minus reading on an ALT gage, including a bad gage. First thing I would check is alternator output from the alternator. Not much need to look further afield if no output. They are really easy to rebuild too.

 Sorry, down here thats a redneck teknical term. I ment the battery was discharging, not charging and more was being taken away than put in, in other words.

I guess I should have said the alternator gauge was showing that the battery was discharging. :D :D
