made it to the track saturday, my test and tune was cut short by a blown head gasket, but up untill then the car was flying, best and fastest, 11.40et 115.45mgh and 1.54 60ft that puts me in the super pro class up here. the water injection seem to stop the detonation, never hurt any plugs (rv9y), only thing is their hard to read the methanol colors the plugs different. only got one jet change to see if richer was better and kept the water injection set at 800cc/pm setting. will i have to take her apart, no water in oil just blown rad hose so if the gasket just push out and no surfaces hurt i will put one of the new steel gaskets rock sent me, thanks again ,i should make the last weekend.

Congrats Terry! Sounds like you can be a player if you get the head gasket business solved. :D

head is off and the gasket seems to have blown pressure to one of the small water jacket hole on cyl#1,i think that is what broke the top rad hose.
the top of the piston is smoked and edge is pitted from detination, there is only one weekend left so everything is cleaned and a fresh gasket.
i have all new piston but i want to build a total fresh engine when i get a tune up that is not hurting part so quick, so i will have to up the jets in the carbs and increase the amount of water injection. the timing is still at 15degs, up to the point of the gasket failing i never had any sign of detination looking at the plugs and the gasket doesn`t look like the other i had fail i also torque the head 90lbs from 85lbs just to see if the head is lifting.it`s getting close, what a blast off the line, it`s been fun even if it`s a short summer

Great work, Terry. Sorry about the head gasket/detonation issue. Are you reading AF ratio on that sucker?

You could maybe try 100% meth. When I switched to meth from a blend the AF went down a full point. Just a thought. Later.

Congrats on the quick e.t.s. Don't you love those quick 60's? It kind of sets your eyes in the back of your head, doesn't it? Some photos would be great, I bet there's some air under those front tires. Keep up the good work.
