 Post subject: MP Torque Converter

As I was doing some research I found that MP has a couple of converters for the A904. I assume this is what I have in my 1966 Valiant. The next question is, are V-8 and 6 trannys the same except for bolt pattern? And does the 6 have a symmetric attaching lug? The MP converters listed do not specifically list the 6. Would one suppose that one of these would work on the 6? MP#5007293 and #5007294 the 93 has a stall speed of 1900-2100 and the 294 2250-2350. $141.00 for a converter didn't sound like a bad price. Any thoughts??

Because of a input spline change in '68, these convertors won't fit a '66.
They fit all non-lockup 904s after '67.

with that said, I am told I need a higher stall speed with the cam I am going to use, where is a good place to start looking for a converter?

Midwest Torque Converter, Rockford, IL. 815-229-9808 They will build one to match your car. More money than an MP, but much better quality than an MP too. My 3000 stall was $318 delivered. :shock:

Any car? I wouldn't mind a high stall for my truck (Toyota Land Cruiser), but haven't had any luck finding one.
