the coolingmist system i have said to go no more than 50/50. is it for safety or will the pump be damage with pure alcohol? will increasing the amount injected also help?i haven`t got a a/f wideband reader yet but maybe over the winter.the car was running so strong so i am thinking that the loss of pressure in the cly cost a lean condition and hurt the plug and piston top when the gasket failed because the fire ring is not burnt or melted. it was so close i thought i had it , oh will!!

Are you running methanol for fuel or gasoline?

The 50/50 blend is for safety reasons I believe. From what I've read, you can add a bigger jet of 50/50 but there will be a point were the fire just can't burn all that water. You have a blower on top of your intake, right? Maybe you should try routing your exhaust away so you can hear if it is detonating (or get a wideband). I can hear if mine is detonating or not (turbo'd). Mine will detonate at 16* total if the meth kit isn't working. Goodluck!

how much boost are you running and is your block o-ringed with steel or copper gasket?

You know my story, I've o-ringd the block and have a copper head gasket. Just recently, I took it to the dyno and had 24psi into it with no issues. 100% meth and a 50/50 mix of premium and race gas. Stock head and block (no resurfacing).

yes i should have remember that,i have been searching for a o-ring tool and the only one i can find is at summit for 389$us, do you or anyone know if i can buy one cheaper. the local machine shop don`t get that far into engine builds so they can`t o-ring anything, the the few guys at the track only have the bigger bore tool over 3.75 bores.

I run 22 psi w/out O-ringing. Just a standard Felpro composite head gasket with head studs. The last head gasket failure was because of detonation. It took a chunk 1" wide out of the gasket. I run AV gas, 102 octane. What psi does the methanol pump start? Later.

i was running a mix of av gas and supreme last year but had problem with composite gaskets .then i had a used steel gasket sprayed with sealer witch seemed to work but when i tryed just supreme gas and the water injection set at 4psi i taught it was working until i blew the top rad hose. the gasket had no sign of melting or burning just black color passed the fire ring. the plug and piston #1 does have detonation sign and damage.it maybe that i was on the edge and the pressure rise from detonation in #1cyl pushed pass the gasket and pressurized the cooling passage and blew the rad hose.if you can run 22psi on a turbo , i can`t see why 5psi with a supercharger is not working. unless i am to close on the lean side and need a richer mix or less timing?what is your max timing?

Isky rents one for something like $65 bucks plus shipping.

I run 19* total. The wideband is a little lean @ high 11's to low 12s. This is because I upped the boost almost 3psi. When it was at 21psi it was a little on the fat side. (low 11s). Turbo66Valiant and I also have intercoolers which helps protect against detonation by cooling the incoming air. My air temp before the meth was 105*f on the dyno. This was only 33*f hotter than ambient. Not bad since the turbo is being pushed past its limits and 24psi too.

Total (max) timing is 16*. Shaker pushed me into a wideband and now looking back, it would be my first purchase. Check your fuel pressure and volume also. What car is this motor in? How heavy is it? Any more scecs.

I also wired an LED so I know when the switch to the pump receives power.

TLJ- I don't recall your build...what is your CR?

the race car is the 76 duster, it 2650lbs with me in it, the engine is 0.080 over bore, 318 valve 9.2compression with steel gasket, cam 556lift/262dur/108 centre.i have 2/600vac holley`s and the timing is locked at 15degs. i have 2 carter street/strip pumps running parrel with 6psi under load. i also wired a green light to show switch i activating pump. the water system works , but now i dont know if i should buy a wide ban o2 to check fuel ratio`s or the o-ring tool.

The wideband is a little lean
Is the AV gas leaded? If so, how are you able to run a O2 sensor? I would like to run one, but I use 110 leaded race gas.
