The plastic over the speedo gauge has been foggy for a while, so I took the cluster out because I had to do a few other things. I tried cleaning it with adhesive remover and it clears up when the adhesive remover is still wet on it, but when it dries, it just goes back to the foggy old plastic color. I can scratch it off with my nail but I can't get any cleaning products to clean it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can clean this off? I'm not sure if the plastic has just gotten old or if there is something I can do to clean it. It's all on the outside, none on the inside.

You need a mild abrasive product to take out the tiny scratches. They make a special plastic polish, but I've had good results with chrome polish, paint buffing compound, and even toothpaste.

This is a hand operation. Do NOT use a buffing wheel unless you really know what you are doing.

It's possible that someone has tried to clean it with a solvent that has actually penetrated the surface of the plastic. If so, you can try an ultra fine steel wool along with the polish to remove the damaged layer. There might be some visual distortion if you are forced to do this, but it beats the milky look.

Try Maguires plastic polish. Works good on tail light and parking light lenses also.

Yup. Meguiar's Plastix. Worked on the headlights of my sister's PT Cruiser and the instrument guages on my brother's 83 Dodge shorty van.

Casually looking for a Clifford hyperpak intake for cheap.

Bought mine at Wal-Mart. Just be sure to use a SOFT cloth to polish with. DO NOT use paper towels. I used "Soft Touch Duster Cloths" (polishing/cleaning) cloths. They are in the furniture polish aisle at Wal-Mart, and yellow in color. They worked great and did not scratch.
