ok i need some help im building a slant six and trying to get my budget together and i want some imput of am i missing anything major the head work is not included and like bearings and other stuff
COMP Cams lifters
COMP Cams valve springs
COMP Cams timeing gears
COMP Cams 264s
PerTronix Flame-Thrower II Ignition Coils
Federal Mogul Z244NP60 .60 over pistons
ignitor 2 electric ignition

i think that the erson Group cam buy will save you money and be better than the comp cams offer, search " erson cam" on this forum....

I'd add ARP rod bolts and main studs for insurance, which will (probably) require an align hone on the main caps.

well i want the comp cam for milage reasons and i dont know much about erson camd

What kind of mileage are you thinking the Comp cam will produce? Are you running a 1bbl or 2bbl carb? Anybody have any input on mileage figures from the Erson cam? Thanks for any info.

ive herd the comp gets good milage and i am running a 4bbl but i wont dog it all the time (keep it on the primarys)

I am getting a little over 20 MPG with an Erson 260 / 244 RDP grind and a Carter BBS 1 bbl carb.

I am running a comp 252 in my daily driver and am getting 18+ mpg in stop and go city driving. Otherwise I am not thrilled with its performance and the rocker clatter is fairly pronounced even with scary tight lash tolerances. :shock:
I would be happier with virtually any other cam (even stock!)
