Just looked at Checker Auto for a thermostat and it seems like they are having a clearance on the 180 and 195 degree Stant Premium Thermostats for only $1.90 and $1.89!!! Don't know if it's just around here, but, check it out and get one for cheap.

180 Premium Thermo

195 Premium Thermo

Wow, I paid $5 for my 180 and I don't even remember what my 195 cost, but I still have it.

Forget it guys, according to the site when I tried to order both a 180 and 195, they are out of the premiums on clearance  Just curious, what temperature thermo does a slant six come with stock?

Depends on the year.........

Earlier models were 180, later 195. Don't remember the year of the transition, but would guess early 70s with the smog controls.

This afternoon, it got quite cold (probably in the 40s) for here. I went to start my car, and it seemed like it was having a hard time turning over. My batt is fully charged, and is only 3 years old. It cranks fine hot but in the cold...

I am looking into one of those electric choke kits, its $40 plus $9 shipping.
