The right wiper on my 68 Dart is sloppy when operating. It tends to bang
down past the glass and onto the sheet metal.
I remember having the same problem on a 64 Newport. There was a nylon bushing that had worn allowing slop in the linkage. I kind of remember being able to remove the fresh air intake in front of the windsheild and replacing the bushing from there.
How would I do this on the Dart?

You can take it off the shaft and rotate it a little.............

the wiper transmission is under the dashboard. it is easily accessible by sitting in the seat upside down. have a friend wiggle the wiper while observing the linkage bar with a flashlight. if there is slop, you will need new bushings. if there is not, your wiper arm is out of position. it will need to be reindexed on the shaft.

Replacement bushing p/n 3799 089 from the local Dodge or Chrysler dealer. You'll need...three of them, I believe it is.

Is the wiper linkage on the '68 different than that on a '74? If not, it will require four of the bushings. Two on the passenger's wiper pivot, one on the driver's wiper pivot, and one on the wiper motor's drive arm.

If you are faced with changing the bushings out, I would definitely suggest that you also spend the time to replace the wiper pivot seals and gaskets. Take a look at the inexpensive kit sold by Schumacher Creative Industries.
