Hi, I own a 74 dart and #2 cylinder only has 50lbs of compression. I think thats why there is vibration when I drive. Of course it still runs I was wondering will this effect my main bearings or?? etc.... anything else .
I guess what I really want to know is do I need a rebuild???? or maybe just a new head.? or is it to late.... just get a new engine?...side note this engine is not original and was out of a 63 belvidere...thats a whole nother story. the torque converter never fit so I grinded out the main  drive on the engine block..could that of caused the vibration etc..?

Gulp....

Errrr... try adjusting the valves first, do a complete tune-up, see if you can get the compression to come-up on #2.

As for grinding-out the converters locating pilot hole, that is scary and can cause vibration of not done in a way to keep the converter centered.
