Hi Dennis: I hear "bits and pieces" about the haps at Slantzilla's garage. Parts coming and going, old projects on "hold" and some new projects in the works....What's going on? Will we see you sometime in 2009 again with a slant6 racecar? Is Mike still "pickin' corn"? We need a update...later from Chico, Wayne/Aric

Been there: its not a garage....its the biggest dealership in the town. Office and living space ....bays...bathrooms. All of it jammed to the rafters with slant speed parts....race cars....panties...tools .....no2 bottles...

Hi Wayne,

How's things with you?

I bought a Daytona this summer and if all goes well it will be sporting a Slant by Spring. We are going to redo it under the hood to make more room and get rid of more weight. It is a back half car now with a stock front clip under it. We will make it more of a tube chassis front end. I am hoping to get it out to Kearney for the Slant Nationals next year. Other than that race, I probably won't have enough vacation time to get anywhere else. (I am going to try and get to Vegas again next year too)

As Sandy says, my shop is full of "stuff". The red car is still there for now, not sure what will happen to it, but it probably won't be disassembled until the Daytona is ready.

I am leaving in the morning to go to Des Moines, IA to meet Mike for lunch and pick up some goodies. I'm leaving him my cracked race head and my MP headers. He wants to try them (the headers) in the Dippy to get that last .02 for the national record in V/SA. I'm hoping he can fix the head.

I'm bringing back my +.100" block, Ross nitrous pistons, rods, and the fogger set-up and controller out of the blue car.

Other than that, my shop also contains a '64 Dart GT that will be a Slant racer for a buddy of mine, my old Duster which will probably become a 340/stick car now, my buddy's '70 Swinger Slant car I did the motor for last year, and another buddy's '69 Barracuda that I bought the 340/stick out of. I think it's gonna end up with a 496" stroker someday.

We speak MOPAR here in the Midwest. :D :D :D :D :D

Had a very nice lunch with Mike today and drug home some more pieces. I'm gonna get serious fast if I can figure all this crap out.

Trip was mainly uneventful for me, except the last few miles into Des Moines. Mike had a little rougher time, he got into aboot 70 miles of snow and ice. :(

Hi Dennis: Neat stuff (as always) and we all hope to see you several? times in 2009. We just finished putting Arics't trans. back in his Dart and changing out the valve body in my 62' (again). Hope it doesn't "creeep" anymore now. Thanks for the updates and have a good Turkey Day..later, Wayne
