This is in response to a couple of messages about 1.6 rockers.

I have a set of Clifford 1.6 rockers on my car. Can't give you the exact performance increase achieved by the rockers because they went on when I added 4bbl manifold, headers, mild cam, and milled head. All the parts are Clifford except for the 390 cfm Holley. The bottom end of the motor stayed the same.

The car picked up about 2 seconds and 10 mph in the 1/4 mile after the parts were installed. Should do better with better tires ( it is nice to have to worry about traction now ) and some fine tuning. Regretfully I have moved to a hundred miles away from the drag strip, so it looks like this was the last run for the time being.

If anyone can post a picture of the rockers on this site give me an e-mail address and I can send it. I tried to put the picture up on this site and failed.

The car involved in all of this is a 65 Coronet Coupe auto daily driver. The nice thing about the performance upgrades is that they did not hurt the gas milage. In fact, it might be a little bit better.

Are you SURE those are 1.6 or were you told they are 1.6. The reason I ask is I have 1 of those on an engine. Charrlie S and I were talking about this the other day and SS Dan mentioned the name of the company in a post recently Started with a G Gotha maybe. Did these come from Clifford? How much?

I put a milled, ported, big valve head, Holley 390 and Offy intake on my 3000 lb '67 Valiant along with 2 1/4" exhaust. I kept the stock cam, stock rockers and stock exhaust manifold with the ports cleaned up a bit.

I picked up just over 2 seconds in the 1/4 mile myself and the car runs right about 17 flat. I have about $1000 total into my mods as I bought my Offy manifold and carburetor used and did the head porting work myself.

I bought the rockers from Clifford about 9 months ago. I think that they were the first set they made up.

Can't remember exactly how much they cost. I got them at the same time with the other parts. I think that they cost around $350.00.
