Which part(s) of your throttle linkage is/are shot? Does the car have an automatic or a manual transmission?

auto transmission, and from the pedal to the fire wall to the carb. everything just sloppy and comes apart also only opens the old carb 1/2 way. its just a mess.

At this point given that it sounds like you want a new carburetor as well, you'll probably do best to convert to the later cable-type throttle control rather than the '63 rod-style control. Much easier availability of good carbs (and linkage parts) that way, and much easier to convert to a 2bbl if you eventually decide to do so. Grab the complete auto trans kickdown linkage assembly including the bracket that bolts to the manifold and the accelerator pedal assembly with throttle cable from a slant-6 '67-up A-body (or just about anything else, really...Aspen, Volaré, whatever), mount the pedal to the firewall, mount the linkage bracket to the manifold, and send me a PM for a brand-new carburetor. :D
