Is there a recommended timing set supplier, with hardened steel gears, double roller, multiply keyways in lower gear?
I looked at:
1) hughesengines.com, does not have multiple keyways
2)Cox Brothers, posted in this forum under parts, phone listed is disconnected
3) Rollmaster, Red Series, fits the requirements, but 110.00 US and shipping from Australia does not.

who else is worth looking at

thanks

You've found the good ones. Most folks that bother to degree the cam drill the indexing hole in the cam sprocket to accept an offset bushing.

I'd ask Hughes why he doesn't supply a multiple keyway crank sprocket with his timing set since he could use the same one as in his 6427 or 6430 timing sets for B/RB engines.

Spoke with Kevin at hugesengines about an alternative lower gear that is keyed, He said that he looked at a keyed v-8 lower gear and it had a larger ID, I'll call again tomorrow and mention the set up that you mentioned.

The slant uses the same timing chain and crank sprocket as B/RB engines. You can take that to the bank.

My opinion is the multi-keyed crank sprocket is a pain in the keester. I always use a offset cam bushing (chevy ones work fine), even if the crank gear is keyed.

Here is the JP chain less then $100 shipped.

Dadtruck,

If you want a new in box rollmaster set from here in NC, PM me. I guarantee to beat the list price, I am not gonna use it. Never out of box.
