I am a bit confused about gasket sets.
I see for sale people selling /6 gasket sets for certain years i.e. 67-78.
I thought all the slants used the same sets, same bore etc.
Maybe a dumb question but.
Shouldn't all /6 gasket sets be compatible with any engine?
I would think that earlier engine/later set should be fine but maybe not later engine/earlier set correct?

All iron slant-6s from 1960-1980 use the same gaskets. The '81-'87 hydraulic-lifter engines use some different gaskets, and the '61-'63 aluminum-block engines use some different gaskets.
