Hey everyone, I've been lurking for awhile and reading some posts and thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Brian and I live in San Diego, CA. I've owned a 1977 Dodge Aspen wagon with a Super 6 for the past two years. It was a birthday gift from my parents. They bought the car when I was 4 months old, and it's been in the family ever since. The car has been in the family longer than my younger brother!! Currently it has around 360,000 miles on it! :-D

I had the car for a few years when I first went to college as a daily driver and now it is my project car. I've been chronicling my exploits with the car on my blog http://www.mikuhl.net/77Aspen . Haven't been able to do as much work as I've wanted to, but hopefully that will change this winter. :)

Here are a few photos to share. The car was originally Cloud metallic with a red vinyl interior. It's had a few repaints over the years, current color is unknown Charcoal Gray metallic. It's got a set of 17" Mustang Bullitt rims on it, which is the most obvious non-stock change to the car.

I had purchased a parts car to swap over to a 318 V8, but for now I've decided to continue with the Super 6.

Very cool. Glad you've finally made yourself known to us. Gotta love those Aspen/Volaré wagons.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Yeah, I love my wagon. It's because of this car that I've always had a softspot for any sort of station wagon... from the hot little Volvo V70R wagons all the way up to the Ford Country Squires and big 70's full size land yachts.

But the Aspen always holds the #1 spot in my heart.

VERY nice wagon. Nicer color than the "Mustard Yellow" version I inherited from my folks many years ago. My Dad had evidently found the only 1bbl slant six wagon built. :(

Looks great. Did you need to use any spacers, ect to get the wheels to fit?

Hi everyone. I corrected the link in the first post, the period at the end of the sentence was put into the link. You can also find the link in my signature as well. And here to: http://www.mikuhl.net/77Aspen

When I first got the wagon from my dad, I tried to put my old Bullitt rims on it. They didn't fit all the way on, center bore was too small. My Mustang convertible had a set of spacers (http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/iww ... 1&comp=LRS) on the rear of the car to kick the wheels out to the edge of the fender. I decided to give them a try to see if they would help, and they did. They also pushed the wheels out to better fill out the wheel well. I ordered 4 of them to install the Mustang rims.

I am running the stock Mustang tire size of 245/45R17, which i believe is a slighty shorter overall diameter to the stock 14" wheel/tire package that came on the car.

welcome, i'm in oceanside ca and hope to see your wagon around. I too have a pretty quick super six and love my wagon. It's so utilitarian and all my junk fits in it. There are a couple of other cool wagons in san diego and it seems likme they find happy homes here. Welcome again
